DNA PATERNITY TESTING

Paternity Testing simply means establishing fatherhood. Everyone is born with a unique genetic blueprint known as DNA (DeoxyriboNucleic Acid). Because DNA is inherited from the biological mother and father to a child, DNA identification provides a conclusive way to determine biological relationships. Consequently, DNA testing has become the most accepted method to determine identity within the legal and scientific communities.

Who is helped by a DNA test?
At Oschmann Employee Screening Services, we understand that life’s issues can be complicated, but the identity-testing experience doesn’t have to be. While the list of reasons for a DNA test are numerous, here a few reasons you may need a DNA test.

  • Parents requiring to identify the custody and/or visitation rights of their children
  • Parents seeking child support
  • Grandparents wanting to verify the identity of their grandchildren
  • Adoptees who want to identify their biological family members
  • Immigrants wishing to legally immigrate to the United States or elsewhere
  • Individuals verifying their relationship to the deceased to ensure rightful inheritance and social security benefits
  • Individuals looking for missing family members
  • Twins wishing to determine if they are identical or fraternal

Testing Accuracy
Oschmann Employee Screening Services has teamed the leading American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) Accredited DNA laboratory to provide our DNA testing. Our lab is fully accredited and their test results are recognized and accepted in all courts throughout the country.

All DNA tests are run twice — when the lab receives your samples, their arrival is recorded and immediately divided into two for a unique Dual Process™. We utilize the only DNA paternity testing lab to use a recognized complete parallel testing process that rules out false results. This proprietary process ensures that our clients receive the highest accuracy of testing available today. Each step performed by a biotechnology specialist and by an advanced Biomek® robotics systems, is carefully recorded and performed in parallel using the two independent samples. At the end of the DNA test, a PhDs or MDs compares the results to verify that they match. This stringent process helps to rule out false results in the rare instances that samples become compromised. Together with our use of robots in most of the sample preparation steps, it eliminates the possibility of human errors such as sample switching and/or cross-contamination.

Through our lab we guarantee at least 99.99% probability of paternity for inclusions or 100% certainty of exclusion.

Professional and Confidential
The information you trust with Oschmann Employee Screening Services is accurate, safe and confidential. Rest assured, you can trust in the testing process. Your situation is personal and unique. We realize the results you are given will have a profound and lasting impact on you and the people you cherish. We feel privileged to have an essential role in the discovery and documentation of your DNA identity and your biological relations.

The Process
The test procedure starts with collecting a sample from the mother, the child and the alleged father. Single parent/child testing may also be performed, therefore, it is not necessary to collect DNA from the mother. We understand that these situations can be complicated. Therefore, Oschmann Employee Screening Services can arrange testing if one of the parties resides in another city or state. The samples do not have to be collected at the same time.

We generally utilize a simple, non-invasive buccal swab (much like a Q-tip) from inside the mouth. The swab is a simple, painless way to collect cells from the cheeks inside the mouth. The DNA in the cells is then sealed and sent to the laboratory to be analyzed to see if the alleged father's DNA matches the child's DNA.

The Results
Results are generally available within 72 hours or 3 business days.
